Most loyalty programs die at sign-up, because they ask the customer to do work: download an app, fill a form, remember a card. Retainx attaches enrollment to the one thing the customer already does, which is pay. So joining costs them nothing, and you capture the purchase detail that makes every later message specific.

Do I need a payment account to use Retainx?

Yes for the auto-enrollment feature. We connect to your payment provider to receive customer payments and enroll them automatically: Stripe for cards worldwide, or Razorpay Smart Collect for UPI in India. If you do not have an account, we walk you through the setup. Verification typically takes about 24 hours.

How long does it take for my WhatsApp templates to get approved?

Gupshup typically approves templates in 24 to 72 hours. We submit eight pre-written templates for your industry on signup so you can start sending the day after your business verification clears. We also keep a fallback shared sender for free-tier accounts so you can test the flow immediately.

What is your refund policy?

Monthly plans: no refund after billing date except for verified Retainx-side downtime exceeding 24 hours documented. Annual plans: pro-rated refund within 30 days of activation minus $10 processing fee. Add-ons and one-time setup charges are non-refundable once delivered. How do you handle customer privacy and compliance?

We are built to GDPR and the DPDP Act 2023. Customer data is encrypted at rest, never sold, and erasable within 30 days of a verified request. We list every subprocessor in our privacy policy. There is a named contact for privacy questions and complaints reach a human within 7 days.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your dashboard in two clicks. We give you a 30 day grace period to export your customer data as a CSV. After 30 days the data is permanently deleted from our systems and we email you confirmation.

Do you provide tax invoices?

Yes. You get a standard tax invoice in USD, downloadable as a PDF from the billing page. In India, every payment generates a GST invoice with your business GSTIN, HSN code, taxable value, and the 18% GST breakdown, so you can claim input tax credit.

Do you support multiple outlets?

Yes. Pro plan supports 3 outlets, Chain plan supports 25 outlets. Each outlet gets its own payment identifier, its own QR code, its own staff scope, and its own analytics. Customers are shared across outlets at the org level so you see total LTV across all locations.

Does Retainx integrate with my POS?

You do not need a POS integration to start. Payment-linked auto-enrollment is the first wedge. We have integrations planned with Square, Toast, Lightspeed, Shopify, and Clover. CSV upload is supported today on Pro and Chain plans.

How does the AI personalization actually work?

When we generate a win-back message, we send Claude the customer's last 5 transactions, their favorite items, total spend, last visit date, and your reward limits. Claude generates a 50-80 word WhatsApp message in your brand voice. You see every generated message before it sends for the first 3 campaigns, then automatic after you approve.

What happens if a customer asks me to delete their data?

You can issue a deletion request from the customer profile page or your customer can email privacy at retainx dot in. We verify, delete within 30 days, and email both you and the customer confirmation. Transaction records required by law are retained per the privacy policy but personally identifying data is removed.

How do referrals work without fraud?

Each customer gets a unique referral code. The referrer earns a reward only after the referred customer makes a verified first transaction at your outlet. Our anti-fraud rejects referrals where referrer and referred share the same phone IMEI, same payment method, or visit within 5 minutes of each other.

What if WhatsApp Business goes down?

We failover from Gupshup to AiSensy automatically. If both go down we queue messages and retry. We never lose a customer touchpoint. SMS fallback via MSG91 is available for critical messages like OTP and reward expiry alerts.
